Smart solutions for photovoltaics

In its energy technologies, Huawei develops solutions for three basic groups of recipients: individual investors, enterprises and large-scale photovoltaic farms. The proposed solutions guarantee the lowest possible electricity costs and improved safety for the user.

– The stability of the operation of the electrical system is the basis for the development of our new products – says Ryszard Hordyński, Director of Strategy and Communication at Huawei Polska at the Intersolar Europe 2022 exhibition in Munich, in an interview with WNP.PL. – The smart grid connection algorithm developed by Huawei allows the adaptation of a given PV system to different variants of the power grid, enabling optimal cooperation with low, medium and high voltage networks. The technologies used ensure the stable operation of the system and significantly improve security, he adds.

Energy Storage

Huawei unveiled a new energy storage management system. With four layers of protection, including cell-level fault detection, plant-wide safe shutdown, overcurrent and fault isolation, and intelligent fire suppression.

In addition, Huawei presented a new intelligent system for managing the operation of photovoltaic installations. According to the manufacturer, this solves the problems related to the limited battery capacity. By integrating artificial intelligence technologies, it overcomes the limitations of standard battery management, opening up new opportunities for intelligent management of the operation of the photovoltaic installation with the warehouse, increasing the level of self-consumption and reducing the risk of shutdowns due to limitations of the transmission network.

The new solution increases the self-consumption rate of the photovoltaic installation by up to 90%, providing consumers with stable access to clean energy with reduced electricity costs, increased security and intelligent management.

Transformer stations

Huawei is trying to popularize its transformer substations in Poland.

In Europe, we have already delivered 3 GW to traffic stations, and around the world about 20 GW – emphasizes Ryszard Hordyński. – We will soon launch a larger transformer station on the market. It will be a solution dedicated to even larger photovoltaic farms, which will allow Poland to produce more green energy – he adds.

Ryszard Hordyński points out that Huawei is second in the world when it comes to R&D investment. – We are just behind Alphabet, ahead of Apple and Microsoft. We allocate several trillions of dollars a year to R&D. Overall 54 percent. employees of our company are scientists who develop technology – he explains.
